What can I do with the free tier?

Almost everything! Chat, file operations, semantic search, slash commands, rules, and the Issue Board are all free. The only paid feature is MCP server integrations for connecting external tools.

What are MCP server integrations?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets you connect external tools and services to Hydrate. For example, you could connect a web browser, calculator, or custom API. This is a Pro feature because it requires additional infrastructure to manage server connections.

What are scheduled automations?

Scheduled automations let you run prompts automatically on a schedule. For example, generate a daily summary of your notes, create weekly review documents, or run cleanup tasks. This is a Max feature.

What are custom models?

Custom models let you connect self-hosted LLMs like Ollama or your own fine-tuned models. If you want to run AI locally or use a model not supported by the default providers, Max gives you that flexibility.

How much do the AI API calls cost?

That depends on your provider and usage. Typical costs range from $0.01-0.10 per conversation. Check OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google's pricing pages for current rates. We don't add any markup.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel anytime from your dashboard. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period, then move to the free tier. Your data and settings stay intact.
